Hi there! I am Anne-Geri’(or “Angie” or "Anj") Fann. My first name is pronounced "ann-juh-ree" (my parents were creative, not high! lol).
I credit my love of the Word to my preacher dad who taught me about Christ's presence in the Old and New Testaments and my elementary teacher mom who supplemented that truth and raised me in the most truly educational Sunday Schools ever.
My mission experience extends from birth to missionaries parents (New Zealand). Years later, I fell in love with the language and people of Honduras where I have lived and worked (off and on) since 1988. For around 20 years I taught Spanish to high school students. I have a Masters degree in theological studies, but also an accidental degree in Spanish from taking so many classes to improve my fluency! I do often offer theology and missions/anthropology classes at different universities.
David and I have two awesome boys. Borrowing from a song based on James 4:14, I believe that "my life is just a soul trapped in a little dust" so I do try to "squeeze the marrow" out of every moment. If you want to know more about me, you can go to my personal website for more fun information or hereto find out how on earth my parents came up with ... "Anne-Geri' ..."
Creator of the Sunday School Curriculum/Sleuth
Anne Gray is a child whisperer who was an elementary education teacher for many years. In one of those years, she met missionary Glen Gray whom she followed to New Zealand where they worked for about a decade and there had their daughter, Angie.
A few years later, in Colorado, Anne and Barbara McMickle began the Look at the Book program, and both have tweaked and shared it until it became used by church congregations as elementary and adult curriculum in many states and is used in different parts of the world. She and Glen now reside in Tennessee.
She has presented the curriculum professionally to many churches and universities throughout the U.S. and South Pacific. It is now offered to YOU, at The Scripture Scout's STORE. (Go HERE for two free lessons!)
Addendum: This is Anne-Geri' ("Angie") writing here. My mother met with a difficult illness and passed from this earth to glory sooner than expected and over the Christmas holidays of 2018. I did, however, finish transferring her curriculum to a downloadable file and literally typed the last few words at the very moment I got a call from the dad to get to their home as quickly as possible ... several hours later, she went to be with Jesus. We had been working on it together as much as possible, but in the end, not a lot was possible. There were still a few tweaks I needed to finish for her but everything came to a halt upon her passing, planning and hosting a Celebration of Life service and the other stuff that comes with loss. You know ... grief. Thank you for understanding. You may also read THE BEST DINNER ROLLS EVER for a humorously spiritual little something that was read at her services.
Hi, I’m Kara! I’m considered the guru of Photo Management and production with The Scripture Scout. In other words, if I don't take the photos myself I am allowed to “thumbs down” stuff that isn't amazing, doesn't match the topic, or just plain doesn't work (like that selfie of Anj in Cocoa Beach haha). Any photos are credited to Kara Capps Photography, multiple Unsplash photographers and Shutterstock.
Many days you might see me taking professional shots of folks when they are at their finest (graduation, wedding, families, cute newborns, and many other moments when people smile) and my goal is to show the beauty, grace, strength and enthusiasm of those hearts and faces. I also have two rockin’ girls and a husband of hummuna-hummuna years. All that being said...
I will be the first to tell you that JESUS. SAVED. MY. LIFE. You can read more about that HERE. But for now, enjoy perusing this site and be grateful you have found these resources.
Love Jesus, love yourself. And you know you are loving yourself by loving Jesus! Promise. Peace out!

Sometimes I write in between chaos and feeding times.
I only draw when I'm inspired. And that's just one place I "find my brave." I also find my brave in my marriage, in writing, in family, in speaking platforms, and yes, in drawing.
I invite you to ditch the recipes, abandon the rules, take chances and color outside the lines (hey, sometimes on the walls). But find your brave. The brave that comes from finding your truth and nothing that some small-minded person has told you. WE can be brave together ...
Enjoy finding Jesus wherever His father takes you in this life. Let’s DO this!
